Nursing homes and home care
Caring for residents in nursing and care homes comes with daily challenges, preventing falls, monitoring vital signs, and reducing pressure injuries. All while ensuring residents feel safe and comfortable. LYNG by Ably Medical is designed to ease this burden.
LYNG supports caretakers in maintaining awareness of residents’ activity
LYNG by Ably Medical is a non-intrusive movement monitoring device for beds in nursing homes and home care settings. It detects presence, in-bed movement, and bed exit events, with notifications configured by caretakers.
LYNG also provides indicative resting heart rate and respiration rate values, shown as trends and time-based averages. These measurements support situational awareness and are not intended for diagnosis or clinical decision-making.
The platform can display data from connected third-party devices, medical and non-medical, when available.
By reducing the need for frequent manual checks and routine documentation, LYNG supports caretakers in their daily work while keeping focus on residents.
Bed exit and movement
Unassisted bed exits are a common concern in nursing homes and home care. LYNG is placed under the mattress and monitors presence and movement in bed. Notifications can be configured to alert caretakers when a resident leaves the bed or remains out of bed longer than expected, including at night.
This supports awareness without frequent routine checks. Notification settings can be adjusted per resident to fit individual care routines and help avoid unnecessary alerts.
Indicative heart rate and respiration trends
LYNG provides indicative measures of resting heart rate and respiration rate, shown as trends and averaged values over time. These measurements support situational awareness and are not intended for diagnosis or clinical decision-making.
Trend views can help caretakers observe changes in rest and activity patterns, including for residents with limited ability to communicate.
Repositioning notifications
For residents with limited mobility, LYNG monitors in-bed movement and position changes over time. Notifications can support awareness of prolonged immobility and help caretakers plan repositioning and routine care.
The system supports observation and does not replace established care practices.

What sets LYNG apart?
Residents' safety
Continuous movement monitoring and indicative trends in resting heart rate and respiration rate support awareness of changes in activity and rest patterns.
Efficiency and capacity
By reducing frequent manual checks, the system supports consistent daily workflows using existing resources.
Staff well-being
Structured observation and reduced routine documentation help caretakers focus on residents while limiting physical and mental strain.
Cost reduction
A bed-based monitoring setup can help limit reliance on multiple devices and repeated manual observations.
Automated documentation
All data is recorded and can be automatically integrated into the central patient journal. This reduces the administrative burden on staff.
Configurable notifications
Notifications highlight changes in bed presence or activity and can be configured per resident to support awareness without unnecessary alerts.
