Touchless movement monitoring for residents
LYNG by Ably Medical is a Class I medical device for nursing homes and home care, providing continuous, contact-free monitoring of bed presence and movement, with indicative heart rate and breathing patterns to support daily care.
Sensor mat
Non-intrusive under-mattress movement monitoring.
Placed discreetly under the mattress. It continuously captures movement, presence, and bed exit events, along with indicative heart rate and respiration rate trends derived from micro-movements.
Because the mat is fully contact-free, residents are not disturbed during rest or sleep. This makes it suitable for long-term use in nursing homes and home care settings, supporting routine observation and early attention to changes in activity or breathing patterns.
Connectivity hub
Reliable data flow across care environments.
The LYNG Connectivity Hub enables secure and reliable data transfer between the Sensor Mat, connected devices, and the care team interface.
Designed to operate in diverse care environments, the hub supports WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G, and 5G connectivity, ensuring continuity even during resident transport within a facility. Its battery-powered design allows monitoring to continue for limited periods when residents are moved.
The hub also acts as an integration point for selected third-party devices, helping consolidate relevant data streams into one system.
Dashboard
Clear overview for caretakers and care managers.
The LYNG Dashboard provides a centralized overview of residents, displaying movement patterns, bed presence, and alerts in near real time.
Configurable notifications help caretakers respond to events such as prolonged inactivity or bed exits. Trend views support reflection on changes over time, assisting with care planning and prioritization.
The dashboard is designed for clarity and ease of use, supporting everyday workflows in nursing homes and home care services.
Wearable and device compatibility
Flexible integration with existing tools.
LYNG is designed to integrate with a curated selection of third-party devices, such as blood pressure or oxygen saturation monitors, where appropriate.
Open APIs and standards-based interfaces support interoperability with existing IT systems, helping care providers extend their monitoring setup without replacing established tools.
Key benefits for nursing homes and home care
No contact and unobtrusive
No wearables or cables for residents to manage.
Continuous movement awareness
Presence in bed, motion levels, and bed exit events monitored around the clock.
Indicative HR and RR trends
Derived from contact-free sensing to support observation, not diagnosis.
Configurable notifications
Tailored thresholds for movement, inactivity, or bed exits.
Supports everyday care routines
Helps caretakers prioritize attention and reduce unnecessary room checks.
Ready for health journals
Standards-based integration (FHIR / HL7) to support documentation workflows.
Intended use
LYNG is currently intended to support caretakers by providing continuous, non-invasive monitoring of movement and presence in bed, with indicative physiological trends derived from motion signals.
It is not intended for diagnosis, clinical decision-making, or real-time vital sign monitoring, and does not replace professional judgment or standard clinical assessments.
*However, LYNG is progressing toward Class II certification and will provide validated heart rate and respiration rate measurements for clinical use in 2027.
